As first time home buyers, we had so many mixed emotions entering into this exciting and overwhelming process. Like most, we had a lot of questions and reservations about even beginning the process.
Lisa sat down with us before we even started looking at houses. She walked us through everything - from budgets, down payments and closing costs, to the type of house we envisioned - the area, style, and all of the must haves to make it home. Lisa asked and helped us answer the questions we hadn't even thought of ourselves.
She also shared some really important insight with us. She said, 'sometimes you might think you want one thing, but until you really start to look you can't really be sure.' We both had a vision of what we wanted - or thought we wanted, but it took us walking through different homes with her and seeing what was out there, for us to really realize what we both needed in a home - and she did so in such a patient and supportive way.
When we walked into our home, it was only the second time we had actually been out looking and it was the sixth house we had looked at. It was the first house that we both walked in to and could picture ourselves living in and building our life together. It was the first and only house we walked in to that just felt right.
It almost seemed as though it was too good to be true.
Lisa offered us another important insight when she said; there's no magic number for finding the right home. Sometimes it's the first place you walk into, other times is the 6th, or 15th, or even 30th.
When I reflect back on this advice now, I realize that there may not be a magic number, but it certainly helps when you have someone who takes the time to get to know you, to understand your wants and needs, and who works tirelessly to identify and match these things to the listings and showings she sets up on your behalf. The true magic is having a wizard of a real estate agent on your side, and that's Lisa!
With this in mind we decided to make an offer, a few days later it was accepted, and we were first time home owners!
There were many moments throughout this process where we said to each other how amazing Lisa was to work with, and how we couldn't have imagined doing this without her in our corner. Her knowledge and experience was truly invaluable.
This was never more true than on possession day.
She was there with us in the morning when we received our keys, she walked us through the home, and she ensured that everything that was in place, in working order, and up to the standards we were promised.
We can't stress enough how amazing it was to work with Lisa. We always felt like we were her only priority, and that this decision was just as important to her as it was to us. We are forever grateful for her passion, patience, and experience in this process.
Whether you are a first time home buyer, or searching for your forever home, Lisa is someone you can trust to be in your corner, to advocate for your needs, and make the experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Thank you Lisa!
